Lifting Together: A Day at Little Elm Area Food Bank
By John Doe Fabric Analyst
Last weekend, part of the Armely team headed over to Little Elm Area Food Bank. No suits, no laptops, just a group of us in sneakers and tees, ready to help however we could. What we got in return? Way more than we expected.
We Thought We Were Going to Help.
We Did. But We Also Learned.
We sorted donations, packed up meal kits, and hauled box after box until our arms ached. But somewhere in between lifting cans and taping boxes shut, something shifted.
It stopped being about "volunteering" and started feeling like this is exactly where we were supposed to be.
There’s something powerful about physically doing the work—knowing that what you’re touching will end up on someone’s dinner table that night. It humbles you. It sticks with you.
The boxes break a Breath, A Bit of Hope.
We kept thinking about the people behind the numbers. A tired parent picking up dinner without having to choose between groceries and rent. A kid opening a snack-packed bag and feeling seen.
It’s not charity. It’s community.
And it reminded us that showing up matters—even if it’s just for one afternoon.
We Left Tired, Sweaty… and Honestly, Pretty Lit Up
That’s the kind of energy we want to carry into everything we do at Armely. Not just in the office. Not just on “CSR days.” But every single time we have a chance to lift someone else up, even in small ways.
So yeah, we packed a ton of boxes.
But what we really packed was care. Intention. A little love in every bag.
And if that’s not good business, we don’t know what is.
